Workers' Compensation Attorney
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our expanding practice in Columbia, South Carolina. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a rapidly growing statewide workers’ compensation practice within our firm. As a key member of our team, you will handle a substantial and complex caseload, representing clients in various workers' compensation matters.
In this position, you will be responsible for managing cases and hearings on a daily basis. Your duties will include drafting and filing litigation documents such as pleadings, discovery requests and responses, demands, motions, and memoranda. You will guide clients through the case process, interact with expert witnesses—including conducting conferences and drafting expert reports and affidavits—and prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
The ideal candidate will possess a law degree from an accredited law school and be an active member in good standing with the South Carolina State Bar Association. A minimum of three years of experience in workers' compensation law is required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage a high volume of cases and hearings, exhibit excellent client service and communication skills, and be self-starters driven by long-term career goals. Superior writing and oral advocacy skills are essential.
