Litigation Paralegal
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Scranton. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will work closely with our talented attorneys, providing support before, during, and after trials. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering justice for our clients.
In this position, you will be responsible for preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda. Your duties will also involve e-filing court documents in state and federal courts, conducting legal research and factual investigations, preparing discovery documents and responses, drafting and serving summons, coordinating and summarizing depositions, and preparing trial binders and exhibits. Additionally, you will perform administrative tasks such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics.
The ideal candidate will possess an associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience, with a minimum of 2 years of litigation experience. Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program is preferred. Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or other injury-related practice areas is advantageous. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential. The ability to type at least 35 words per minute is also required.
