Trust & Safety Specialist
Instawork is seeking a Trust & Safety Specialist to join our team in San Francisco, California. This role is integral to maintaining the safety and integrity of our AI-powered labor marketplace, which connects skilled hourly professionals with local businesses. As a meticulous and objective investigator, you will be responsible for resolving complex safety incidents, ensuring our community's trust and adherence to company policies.
In this position, you will lead comprehensive investigations into safety incidents, managing escalated support tickets with clarity and consistency. Utilizing advanced tools such as vibe coding (Natural Language to SQL) and AI-driven automation, you will gather facts, identify fraud patterns, and streamline workflows. Your role will also involve acting as a subject matter expert on Instawork’s Community Guidelines, applying and evolving these policies as our marketplace grows.
The ideal candidate will possess a "detective" mindset, capable of weighing conflicting evidence and reaching fair conclusions under pressure. Proficiency in using AI to enhance productivity, including interfacing with data through natural language and automating administrative tasks, is essential. A minimum of 3 years' experience in Trust & Safety, Operations, or Compliance is required, along with strong communication skills for interacting with external stakeholders such as clients, legal teams, or law enforcement. Comfort with navigating internal systems and using data to build factual narratives is also necessary.
For California-based applicants, the base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000, with eligibility for equity in the form of stock options.
