The Sportsbook Area within Betsson Group's Product Development is seeking a Backend Engineering Tech Lead to join their team in Malta. Betsson Group is a leading company in the iGaming industry, offering a world-class Sportsbook developed in-house by a dedicated tech team. The company operates across multiple markets and is expanding rapidly, providing sports betting platforms in various regions. The Product Development organization is cross-functional, with teams spanning five tech hubs located in Malta, Budapest, Stockholm, Tallinn, and Athens.

As a Tech Lead, you will be part of the Sportsbook B2B & Integrations Value Stream, participating in the design, proof of concepts, and development of complex tasks. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality delivery by developers, working closely with architects to align and implement architectural directions within the teams. Additionally, you will collaborate with other tech leads across the product development department to ensure technical consistency and drive technical excellence initiatives within Sportsbook. Your responsibilities will also include identifying technical improvements, validating them, and assisting Product Managers in prioritizing such enhancements. Furthermore, you will participate in development, testing, code reviews, bug fixing, implementing new features, and maintaining existing functionality. Building a world-class team by participating in technical interviews and coaching engineers is also part of your role. Staying updated with technology and strategically implementing various technologies will be essential.

The ideal candidate is a team player who readily offers help and shares knowledge with colleagues. Proactivity is valued, with a preference for individuals who not only suggest improvements but also drive them. A minimum of 5 years' experience in development is required, along with a deep understanding of the latest C# framework/core. Experience with Core for building web-based applications, familiarity with messaging systems and event-driven architecture, and deploying scalable back-end solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP are essential. Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), expertise with distributed systems and high-speed database technologies, and a deep understanding of coding best practices are also required. Understanding caching, CDN, and infrastructure in relation to customer interactions with the site, as well as familiarity with different release processes, is important.
