Solutions Engineer- US Shift
The Solutions Engineer role at Fictiv involves bridging the gap between complex customer requirements and practical manufacturing solutions. The team focuses on accurately interpreting technical drawings, performing precise cost analyses, and ensuring manufacturability through Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews. Key responsibilities include providing high-precision cost estimates for CNC machining and other manufacturing processes, conducting DFM analyses to highlight risks and suggest design changes, and applying process knowledge to quote complex parts confidently. The role also involves direct communication with customers to clarify requirements, resolve design concerns, and ensure alignment on expectations. Additionally, the Solutions Engineer collaborates with internal teams and manufacturing partners to validate capabilities, pricing, and delivery timelines, while proactively identifying and mitigating potential manufacturing challenges.
Required qualifications include a 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical training, understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and conventional tolerancing, and knowledge of the manufacturability and limitations of common metals and plastics. Candidates should have exposure to multiple custom mechanical manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, urethane casting, and injection molding. Experience with CNC machining and 3D printing is essential, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
