Software Engineering Manager, Data Protection Platform
Verkada is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead its Security Team in enhancing the security and privacy capabilities of the Command Platform. This role involves developing platform services that safeguard customer data and collaborating with various engineering teams across the company.
The primary responsibilities include partnering with engineering and product teams to improve product security, building security and privacy platform services for the Command SaaS platform, expanding the adoption of Enterprise-Controlled Encryption, collaborating with the CISO to grow broader security programs, and sharing security expertise through conferences, presentations, blogs, and open-source contributions.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent, with over 10 years of experience as a software engineer and at least 3 years in an engineering management role. Experience in building distributed systems with high quality, scalability, and reliability is essential, along with strong coding skills and a passion for daily coding. A keen interest in security and privacy products, excellent collaboration abilities, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills are also required. The position mandates full-time onsite work in San Mateo, CA.
Compensation includes an annual salary ranging from $200,000 to $315,000, with potential additional forms of compensation such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and equity in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs).
