Senior Software Engineer (Python)
AlphaSense is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our FinData team, responsible for developing robust data ingestion pipelines and services that power our platform with fundamental and reported data from various sources. This role offers the opportunity to work across the entire stack, designing, implementing, testing, maintaining, and improving features and services. As a key member of the team, you will have the autonomy to own and operate the applications and services you build, emphasizing collaborative delivery.
In this position, you will develop product expertise and technical mastery, contributing effectively to the team. Responsibilities include clarifying requirements, implementing effective solutions, and evolving the organization's technical maturity by applying new technologies and practices through continuous learning and innovation. Collaboration with global teams and cross-functional stakeholders is essential, as is adherence to engineering processes, DevOps practices, and company trends such as monitoring, alerting, performance optimization, integration testing, and design documentation.
The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in software development, building highly reliable, mission-critical software. A strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including algorithmic complexity, asynchronicity, and distributed computing, is required. Proficiency in design and architecture concepts, familiarity with Agile software development processes, and experience in delivering high-quality solutions with a sense of urgency are essential. The ability to work in an open, team-oriented environment, a strong sense of ownership, and excellent collaboration skills are also important. Experience with Python, TypeScript, and AWS is advantageous, as is a background or interest in financial modeling, financial technology, or capital markets, though not mandatory.
