Verkada, a leader in cloud-based physical security solutions, is seeking a Senior Manager/Director of Compliance to join their Legal department in San Mateo, CA. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead Verkada's global regulatory compliance program, focusing on FTC and CCPA/CPRA compliance, as well as security and AI compliance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, strategic, and ready to make an immediate impact.

In this position, you will serve as the primary legal compliance partner for the Security team, translating legal and regulatory requirements into actionable security controls and procedures. You will lead the internal audit function for regulatory security, privacy, and AI compliance, regularly assessing the effectiveness of security controls against legal obligations and providing detailed reports to senior leadership. Additionally, you will collaborate with key privacy, security, and product leaders to develop and lead the company's legal regulatory compliance program, ensuring ongoing compliance with evolving data privacy, security, risk, and governance obligations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree from a four-year university, preferably in computer science, engineering, or a related IT field. Candidates should have over 8 years of relevant compliance experience, with a deep technical understanding of security engineering principles related to cloud security, IoT, edge computing, AI/ML, and computer vision. Experience managing compliance programs related to FTC regulations and CCPA/CPRA risk assessment requirements is essential. The ability to work autonomously across cross-functional teams in ambiguous situations, along with a proven understanding of data privacy and security technologies, is also required.
