Senior Information Security Engineer
Betsson Group is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to join their Information Security Department in Malta. This role is integral to the team, which focuses on Security Governance, Security Operations, Security Awareness, and Incident Response. The successful candidate will primarily drive Security Operations while also influencing governance, response strategies, and awareness initiatives. This position requires a proactive mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include leading vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and advanced security testing. The engineer will work closely with the Security Operations Center (SOC) team to identify, investigate, and mitigate threats, providing senior-level insight into analysis and response. Additionally, the role involves evaluating and integrating new technologies, tools, and processes to enhance the company's security posture. Managing supplier relationships and ensuring the optimization of physical security systems across Betsson properties are also part of the duties.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, with a Master's degree being a strong advantage. A minimum of five years of experience in Information Security, particularly in Security Operations and Incident Response, is required, along with five years in broader IT or infrastructure roles. A background in iGaming, telecommunications, or finance is highly desirable. Security-focused certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or OSCP are highly valued. Strong knowledge of security tools, SIEMs, forensic techniques, and a broad understanding of GRC principles and risk management frameworks are essential. Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to influence and collaborate with technical and business teams at all levels are also required.
