Senior Director, Revenue Accounting
The Senior Director of Revenue Accounting at AlphaSense will lead global revenue accounting operations, ensuring compliance with ASC 606. This role is integral to the controllership organization, collaborating with Legal, Sales, FP&A, Billing, and Systems teams to maintain accurate revenue recognition processes and support IPO readiness.
Key responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of global revenue accounting, such as contract review, technical accounting conclusions, and monthly revenue close processes. The individual will serve as the internal expert on ASC 606, design and implement scalable, SOX-compliant revenue processes and systems, and establish controls for revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and related areas. Additionally, the role involves collaborating on deal desk support, managing accounting for non-standard contracts, and supporting financial statement audits.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a CPA certification, with over 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including roles in public accounting (preferably Big 4) and the SaaS/technology industry. Deep knowledge of ASC 606, experience with ERP and revenue automation systems like NetSuite and Salesforce, and demonstrated leadership in high-growth environments are essential. Excellent communication skills and experience interacting with auditors and cross-functional teams are also required.
