Tyson & Mendes LLP is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their Lemon Law Litigation team in Southern California. This role involves representing manufacturers and corporate clients in high-exposure cases under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and other consumer litigation matters across California. The firm is recognized for its leadership in insurance defense and trial advocacy, with a mission to prevent Nuclear Verdicts® through strategic litigation approaches.

The Senior Counsel will be responsible for developing compelling case themes, independently handling court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials, and collaborating with team members of varying experience levels. Regular communication with clients, cultivating relationships with existing and prospective clients, and providing leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys are also key aspects of the role.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved law school and hold an active license with the State Bar of California. A minimum of eight years of solid litigation experience, including litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation, is required. Additionally, at least five years of experience handling Lemon Law defense matters, two years in CRLA, tenant advocacy, or housing litigation, and two years in General Liability defense are necessary. Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, is essential.

The position offers a base salary ranging from $160,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional tiers aggregating at $7,500 each. Comprehensive benefits include health, vision, dental, and life coverage, with plans available at zero employee cost. The firm also provides a 401(k) program with matching contributions, student loan repayment assistance or a 529 college savings plan, paid parental leave, and a monthly technology reimbursement.

Tyson & Mendes LLP fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture, emphasizing professional development and leadership opportunities. The firm offers flexible work options, including in-office, hybrid, or remote arrangements, focusing on performance and outcomes rather than location. With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, the firm supports various internal programs and provides a defined pathway to partnership for attorneys.
