Senior Counsel (Complex Trial)

Tyson & Mendes LLP is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its Complex Trial Team in Northern California. This role involves leading high-exposure insurance defense cases, including those involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, property damage, and professional liability. The firm is renowned for its innovative approach to litigation and commitment to stopping Nuclear Verdicts®.

The Senior Counsel will be responsible for developing and executing case strategies, overseeing all stages of litigation, and serving as lead counsel in jury trials, bench trials, and mediations. Additional duties include providing clear legal advice to clients and mentoring junior attorneys and support staff.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, an active California bar license, and at least eight years of experience in insurance defense litigation with a strong focus on complex trial work. Demonstrated success as lead trial counsel in high-stakes cases and strong knowledge of civil procedure, tort law, and insurance law are essential.

The base salary for this position ranges from $160,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus ranging from $10,000, with additional tiers aggregating at $7,500.
