Senior Business Applications Security Engineer
AlphaSense is seeking an experienced Senior Business Applications Security Engineer to join our growing Corporate Technology team. This role offers the opportunity to build a comprehensive business application security program from the ground up, taking ownership of the security posture across our entire business application ecosystem, including platforms like Salesforce and Workday. The focus is on transforming a fragmented, reactive approach into a centralized, proactive, and hardened security program, bridging business needs with cloud-based software solutions through implementation, optimization, and vendor management.
Key responsibilities include designing and scaling user access with role-based access controls (RBAC), providing escalation support for application access and role issues, conducting requirements discovery and analysis for new applications, and managing API connections and integrations between business applications. The role also involves designing and implementing automations for identity lifecycle management, identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline workflows, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with security standards, and mentoring junior team members on best practices.
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in Application Security or a related role, with professional certifications such as CISSP being a plus. Expertise in Okta, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365 is required, along with experience with SAML and OAuth protocols, as well as SCIM. Proficiency with Okta Workflow or similar automation platforms is essential. Strong soft skills, including change management, process improvement, stakeholder management, and excellent written and verbal communication, are also necessary.
