Senior Business Applications Security Engineer

AlphaSense is seeking an experienced Senior Business Applications Security Engineer to join our Corporate Technology team. This role offers the opportunity to build a comprehensive business application security program from the ground up, taking ownership of the security posture across our diverse application ecosystem, including platforms like Salesforce and Workday. The successful candidate will transform our approach to application security, embedding proactive measures into procurement, integration, and lifecycle management processes.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing role-based access controls (RBAC), providing technical support and troubleshooting for application access issues, conducting requirements analysis for new applications, and managing API connections and integrations within our tech stack. The role also involves identifying and implementing automation opportunities to streamline workflows, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with security standards, and mentoring junior team members on best practices.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in application security or a related field, with professional certifications such as CISSP being advantageous. Expertise in Okta, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365 is essential, along with experience with SAML, OAuth protocols, and SCIM. Proficiency with Okta Workflow or similar automation platforms is required, as well as strong communication skills to bridge technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. Soft skills in change management, process improvement, and stakeholder management are also important.
