Product Designer, Marketplace
As a Product Designer on the Marketplace team at Thumbtack, you will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and fellow designers to transform complex problems into intuitive user experiences. In this position, you will be responsible for designing customer-centric experiences that have measurable business impact. Your day-to-day work will involve partnering with cross-functional teams to lead product visions, define strategies, shape the product roadmap, and develop design solutions. Utilizing research and qualitative data, you will guide design and development decisions, rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes, and iterate through testing and learning to solve existing problems and discover new opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of product design experience, with a portfolio showcasing impactful projects and a strong design process. Essential skills include strong UX, interaction, and visual design abilities, a human-centric approach to product design, and the capacity to balance high-quality craft with agility and iterative experimentation. A bias for action and an understanding of how design work impacts users and the business are crucial. Experience in designing and implementing customer experiences that have led to measurable and sustainable growth results, along with strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, are also required.
Compensation for this role varies based on location. For candidates in San Francisco, Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range is $157,300 to $203,500. For those in Austin, TX, Washington DC metros, or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the range is $142,000 to $183,700. For candidates in all other US locations, the range is $133,500 to $172,700. Actual offered salaries will depend on factors such as job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
