Litigation Paralegal
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Ocala, Florida. This role involves working closely with our attorneys to provide comprehensive support before, during, and after trials, contributing to our mission of advocating for consumer rights.
Key responsibilities include preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda. The paralegal will also be responsible for e-filing court documents in both state and federal courts, conducting legal research and factual investigations, preparing discovery documents and responses, coordinating and summarizing depositions, and organizing trial binders and exhibits. Additional duties encompass maintaining case files, organizing exhibits and evidence, assisting attorneys with discovery requests, liaising between trial teams and third parties, and aiding in witness preparation and case settlements.
The ideal candidate should possess an associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience, with at least two years of litigation experience. Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program is preferred. Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or other injury-related practice areas is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workloads with minimal supervision, exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have proficiency in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings. A strong understanding of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute are required.
