Litigation Assistant
Morgan & Morgan is seeking a dedicated Litigation Assistant to join our team in Providence, Rhode Island. This role involves close collaboration with a lead attorney and litigation paralegal, contributing to our mission of advocating for consumer rights. As a Litigation Assistant, you will play a vital role in managing the firm's daily operations and supporting the legal team.
Key responsibilities include performing administrative duties such as scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics. You will maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, organize exhibits and legal documents, and implement administrative processes to enhance workflow efficiency. Additionally, tasks involve collecting and organizing evidence for attorney review, drafting and proofreading legal documents, conducting legal research, managing client billing, and coordinating meetings with clients and witnesses.
The ideal candidate possesses a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or Paralegal Certificate. A minimum of two years of experience as an administrative assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department is required. Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or related practice areas is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
