Lead Data Engineer
Arcesium is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join our Technology team. In this role, you will collaborate with Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines for our Data Platform. Arcesium is a global financial technology firm dedicated to solving complex data-driven challenges for sophisticated financial institutions.
As a Lead Data Engineer, you will work closely with product and other teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust engineering solutions. You will architect, build, and maintain data solutions and pipelines to meet business needs, lead a team of talented technologists, and establish engineering best practices. Additionally, you will oversee end-to-end data workflows from ingestion to storage in both batch and streaming environments, and drive improvements in performance, reliability, and scalability of data pipelines.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field, with 6-8 years of experience, preferably in the fintech domain. Required skills include strong hands-on experience in data engineering, data lakes, data warehousing, and data analytics tools. Proficiency in open-source big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, and Kafka is essential. Strong SQL skills, experience with relational and NoSQL databases, and advanced proficiency in Python for building scalable data pipelines are also required. Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, ADF, or Glue Workflow, and a solid understanding of CI/CD, version control, and DevOps practices are important. Experience in cloud technologies is a plus.
