Head of Engineering Productivity & Experience
The Head of Engineering Productivity & Experience at AlphaSense is a Director-level leadership role responsible for enhancing developer productivity and experience across a global engineering organization of approximately 400 engineers. This position involves leading teams focused on AI-driven development, developer tooling, web infrastructure, and QA automation, with the goal of optimizing software development, testing, and delivery processes.
Key responsibilities include driving the evolution of developer productivity tooling, defining and implementing AI-driven strategies across the software development lifecycle, owning the developer-facing CI/CD experience to improve build, test, and deployment workflows, and building scalable QA automation platforms. The role also involves leading web infrastructure and microfrontend delivery to enable independent releases, improving engineering velocity by reducing friction in development workflows, and partnering with SRE, Cloud, and Product Engineering teams to enhance software delivery.
Candidates should have several years of engineering leadership experience in developer productivity and experience, a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern engineering workflows, and experience improving CI/CD developer experience. Additional qualifications include experience building or scaling internal developer platforms, driving test automation and quality engineering practices at scale, operating in large engineering organizations with distributed teams, and implementing AI-assisted development tooling. The ability to lead through influence and collaboration across multiple engineering organizations is also essential.
