Database Administrator
The Database Administrator at Betsson Group is responsible for setting up and maintaining the databases that are central to the company's Payment Systems. This role requires a deep understanding of the data model to effectively perform duties and involves close collaboration with both operations teams and developers to ensure optimal quality and performance.
Key responsibilities include maintaining, monitoring, and supporting production and development databases and environments. The role involves troubleshooting various database issues such as integrity, performance, blocking and deadlocks, replication, connectivity, and security. Additionally, the administrator will implement high availability solutions through backups, restores, clustering, availability groups, and replication, as well as operational automation and system storage planning.
The position also entails database development tasks such as writing, optimizing, and maintaining stored procedures, performance tuning of T-SQL queries, and ensuring databases are optimized for performance. Responsibilities include index management, creation, storage, and integrity checks, collaborating with development teams to provide technical expertise for optimized solutions, deploying database change scripts, and supporting developers in efficient database designs.
Candidates should have experience in Payments, FinTech, or financial services testing, particularly in PCI DSS-regulated environments. Proficiency in SQL scripting, including PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server, is required, along experience. Familiarity with Jira, source control systems, and browser consoles is beneficial. The role demands the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, coordinating with multiple departments, and managing workload effectively in dynamic environments. An understanding of the online entertainment and gambling industry is advantageous.
