Data Science Manager
Teads is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Data Science & AI department in Paris. This role involves leading a team of engineers and data scientists dedicated to developing large-scale distributed machine learning systems that process over a billion predictions per second during real-time auctions. Teads is a leading omnichannel advertising platform focused on delivering meaningful business outcomes for brand and performance advertisers across various screens.
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for building a long-term technical vision that aligns with business goals and scales effective AI solutions. Key responsibilities include inspiring, mentoring, and coaching team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and career development. The role also involves overseeing the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring they meet requirements on time while maintaining a balance between development velocity and code quality. Collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams is essential to translate business needs into technical realities. Additionally, the manager will actively participate in architectural and scientific discussions and contribute hands-on to feature implementation and code reviews.
Candidates should have experience managing software or data teams, with a proven track record of mentoring both engineers and scientists. A strong sense of ownership over the full development lifecycle is crucial, along with the ability to generalize specific technical problems into scalable product solutions. Sound knowledge of Agile methodologies and a history of successfully delivering complex projects are required. A solid background in Statistics or AI/ML is necessary, with the ability to apply the scientific method to engineering challenges. A passion for data-driven decision-making and the ability to solve complex problems with innovative solutions are essential. Excellent command of English and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are also important.
