Data Engineer
Betsson Group is seeking a Data Engineer to join our international team in Budapest. In this role, you will contribute to designing and developing our data platform to meet business needs and enhance system performance. You will have the opportunity to design new data pipelines and maintain platforms that support both batch-loading and real-time visualizations.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and evolving our existing data platform, building processes to ingest data from sources such as Kafka, APIs, and databases using AWS MSK Connect, and developing real-time data processing applications with frameworks like Spark Structured Streaming and Kafka Streams. You will also apply transformations to data streams, engage in data modeling following standards like Inmon, Kimball, and Data Vault, and ensure data quality by verifying consistency and accuracy. Staying updated on new technologies and techniques to enhance our data platform is also a crucial part of the role.
The ideal candidate will have experience with modern cloud database technologies such as Snowflake, orchestrating data pipelines using Airflow, and working with AWS Glue and Apache Iceberg. Proficiency in SQL and data integration tools, as well as programming languages like Python or Scala, is essential. Knowledge of AWS services including S3, Lambda, API Gateways, DMS, and RDS is required, along with development experience in both Microsoft and Linux/Cloud environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also necessary.
