Broadcast Cloud Engineer
Host Broadcast Services (HBS) is seeking a Broadcast Cloud Engineer to join our team in Miami, Florida. HBS is a leading independent host broadcast specialist, dedicated to delivering world-class broadcast solutions for major international sports events, including the FIFA World Cup™. As part of the Infront Sports & Media group, we combine technological innovation with deep industry expertise to set the benchmark in live sports broadcasting.
The Broadcast Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the seamless operation, monitoring, and management of live video and post-production systems across on-premises and cloud environments. This role supports real-time broadcast workflows—such as signal reception, processing, mixing, and distribution—as well as post-production workflows, including cloud-based editing, media asset management, and file-based delivery. The engineer will work closely with internal production teams, suppliers, and distribution partners to ensure flawless technical execution throughout each event, from initial signal to final archive.
Key responsibilities include managing and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure for live video processing, deploying and scaling video processing pipelines, and implementing monitoring systems to ensure platform health during live events. The role also involves supporting end-to-end live signal workflows, troubleshooting signal and transport issues, and collaborating with on-site teams to align on-premises and cloud systems. Additionally, the engineer will support cloud-based editing environments, manage media server infrastructure, oversee file-based workflows, and coordinate with production teams on capacity planning around event schedules.
The ideal candidate will have experience in live broadcast environments, hands-on expertise with AWS or similar cloud platforms, and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python. A solid understanding of video workflows, encoding, and streaming protocols (e.g., SRT) is essential. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are also required, along with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, live event settings where collaboration is key to success.
