Backend Software Engineer
The Backend Software Engineer role at Betsson Group is part of the Player, Rewards & Gamification Product Development team in Stockholm. Key responsibilities include designing and developing distributed backend services and event-driven architecture. The engineer will collaborate with product and commercial teams to transform engagement ideas into scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly solutions. Optimizing the microservice ecosystem for performance, reliability, and observability is essential. Additionally, the role involves driving the containerization and cloud migration strategy forward, participating in architecture discussions, writing maintainable, well-tested code, and contributing to incident resolution and on-call rotations.
The ideal candidate should have solid experience with C# and modern versions as well as proficiency in databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Couchbase. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and containerization tools such as Kubernetes and Docker is valuable. A strong understanding of testing frameworks like xUnit/NUnit and performance testing tools like k6 is important. Familiarity with messaging systems like Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ, observability tools like Prometheus or Grafana, and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial. A background in domain-driven design, event sourcing, and distributed systems is also advantageous.
