Associate Attorney
Tyson & Mendes LLP is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our dynamic team in Southern California. In this position, you will be responsible for developing compelling case strategies, managing court appearances, depositions, motion practice, and trials independently. Collaboration with attorneys and staff at all experience levels is essential, as is maintaining consistent and professional communication with clients. Additionally, you will build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective clients and provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys, contributing to the overall success and growth of the team.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and hold an active bar license in the state of California. We are looking for individuals with 1–8 years of solid litigation experience, including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation. The ability to independently manage a full caseload from discovery through trial is crucial. Prior insurance defense experience is preferred, along with familiarity with litigation timekeeping and billing systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities are also required.
We offer a competitive compensation package, with a base salary ranging from $115,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional tiers aggregating at $7,500 each. Comprehensive benefits coverage is provided, including plans available at zero employee cost. Our 401(k) program includes a 100% match on the first 3% contributed and a 50% match on the following 4-5%.
