Accounting Manager

Instawork is seeking a strategic and hands-on Accounting Manager to join our finance team in San Francisco. This role is pivotal in managing general ledger accounts, overseeing month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will collaborate across all company functions to enhance accounting workflows and support the company's growth trajectory.

Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations, supervising the general ledger team, and streamlining month-end close processes using NetSuite. The role also involves analyzing operational costs to aid management decision-making, assisting with financial forecasts and budgets, and coordinating with external auditors and tax professionals to ensure compliance and process efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent is required, with CPA certification preferred. Proficiency in NetSuite, Airbase, Rippling, and advanced Excel skills are essential. The candidate should demonstrate a thorough knowledge of GAAP, strong management and supervisory abilities, and excellent communication skills across all company levels.

Instawork offers a competitive base salary ranging from $145,000 to $180,000, along with equity in the form of stock options.
