Workplace Technology Lead
ShopMy is seeking a proactive and resourceful Workplace Technology Lead to oversee the employee technology experience within the company. This role bridges the People and Technology teams, ensuring that employees have secure and seamless access to the necessary tools, systems, and devices to perform their work effectively. As a core member of the People team, the Workplace Technology Lead will collaborate closely with People Operations to design and implement a streamlined employee technology experience. Initially, the position focuses on hands-on execution and is expected to evolve into strategic ownership of ShopMy’s workplace technology function as the company grows. The role is based in New York City and requires regular in-office presence to support hardware, office setup, and daily operations.
Key responsibilities include managing account and access control by overseeing logins, licensing, and SSO/identity management across Google Workspace and other core systems. The role involves administering Slack, email domains, and inbox access, including handling terminations and handoffs. The Workplace Technology Lead will also manage tool onboarding and offboarding, ensuring end-to-end provisioning for new hires, hardware procurement and setup, device management, and vendor contract oversight. Additionally, the position entails serving as an internal tech-stack expert, supporting system implementations, workflow creation, and integrations, as well as overseeing in-office equipment and infrastructure, including WiFi, network security, and peripherals. Providing technical support to employees, building a self-service knowledge base, and partnering with Engineering to manage device security and compliance are also critical aspects of the role.
The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of experience in IT operations, workplace technology, or people-tech roles, with hands-on experience in Google Workspace, SSO/identity tools, and MDM solutions. Strong organizational skills are essential, with the ability to centralize and document processes across multiple systems. Experience in onboarding and offboarding employees in high-growth environments, managing vendor relationships, and evaluating tools is required. A security and compliance-oriented mindset is crucial, along with high emotional intelligence and communication skills to work cross-functionally with empathy and clarity. The candidate should demonstrate a bias toward action, balancing strategic system design with hands-on troubleshooting, and possess enthusiasm for building the workplace technology function from the ground up.
ShopMy offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $190,000 USD for this position, with actual compensation varying based on experience and business needs.
