Workers' Compensation Paralegal
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Paralegal to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide essential support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, contributing to our mission of advocating for clients in workers' compensation cases.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda. Your duties will include e-filing court documents in both state and federal courts, conducting legal research and factual investigations, and coordinating depositions. Additionally, you will manage administrative tasks like calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and maintaining discovery indexes.
The ideal candidate will possess an associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience, with a preference for those who have completed a nationally accredited paralegal program. A minimum of two years of litigation experience, particularly in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or related practice areas, is preferred. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, and court procedures, are also required.
