Weekend Inspection Lead
The Weekend Inspection Lead at Ursa Major is responsible for managing the weekend inspection team, ensuring accurate verification of aerospace propulsion system components. This role involves coordinating with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments to maintain high standards in product inspection and communication. The position requires working three 12-hour shifts from Friday through Sunday to support weekend operations.
Key responsibilities include leading and developing the inspection team, coordinating resource allocation with Planning and Quality leadership, addressing documentation issues with relevant departments, inspecting complex aerospace components using advanced equipment, conducting training sessions, and maintaining organized inspection spaces. Additional duties may be assigned by Quality leadership as needed.
Candidates must have over five years of experience inspecting complex products or assemblies using hand tools like micrometers and calipers, as well as coordinate measuring machines. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills are essential, along with strong interpersonal abilities to manage the team and collaborate with other departments. Preferred qualifications include experience in employee management, task scheduling, quality-related certifications such as ASQ, familiarity with lean principles like 5S and Six Sigma, experience with complex machined components or assemblies, and knowledge of automated inspection equipment.
The base compensation for this role ranges from $46.15 to $56.70 per hour, determined by education, experience, and skills.
