Vice President, Senior Backend Developer - Lending/Commercial (Remote, Mumbai)
Galaxy is seeking a Vice President, Senior Backend Developer to join our team remotely in Mumbai, India. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize robust, scalable backend systems that power our web and mobile applications for a new product offering. You will collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and infrastructure teams to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our platforms. Your expertise will drive the architecture of our product offerings, supporting Galaxy's mission to innovate in the crypto economy.
As a Senior Backend Developer, your key responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend systems, APIs, and databases that support our web and mobile applications. You will foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team. Collaborating closely with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps teams, you will ensure seamless integration and delivery of features and services. Additionally, you will architect scalable, secure, and efficient server-side solutions that meet fintech industry standards and handle high transaction volumes. Implementing best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, including code reviews and automated testing frameworks, will also be part of your role. Staying current with emerging technologies and trends in backend development, blockchain, and fintech to recommend innovative improvements is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. You should possess 7+ years of experience in backend development, with at least 2 years in a senior role. Hands-on development experience in Node, Express, TypeScript, and related frameworks like Nest.js to build REST APIs and other services is required. Strong experience with SQL and some exposure to NoSQL is preferred. Experience with microservices and event-based architecture, familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and experience in using caching and messaging queues like Kafka are also important. Proficiency in using Postman and Git/Bitbucket is expected.
