Senior Software Engineer, GalaxyOne Institutional
Galaxy is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join its New York City-based engineering team, focusing on the GalaxyOne institutional platform. This role emphasizes enhancing reporting, statements, and login/entitlements management systems. The successful candidate will collaborate across engineering, product, operations, and business teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Key responsibilities include designing and architecting cloud-native systems to increase automation and ensure system integrity and security. The engineer will work directly with stakeholders to understand needs, define requirements, and drive delivery. Additionally, the role involves enhancing reporting and login/entitlements management systems, coordinating with other engineering teams to support platform functionalities like trading and lending, and managing projects from scoping through production. Embracing AI tools to improve team performance and business outcomes is also expected.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of professional software development experience, strong computer science fundamentals, and a proven track record in software design and development. Expertise in Java, Scala, Kotlin, C#, or similar languages is required, with a preference for Java. Strong database and SQL knowledge, in-depth understanding of object-oriented programming, and the ability to work autonomously are essential. Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across teams are also important.
Galaxy offers a competitive base salary ranging from $180,000 to $210,000, along with a discretionary bonus.
