Therapy Development Representative - Hackensack/N. NJ
Inspire Medical Systems Inc. is seeking a Therapy Development Representative for the Hackensack/Northern New Jersey area. This role focuses on increasing awareness and adoption of Inspire's FDA-approved therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) among healthcare providers. The representative will report to the Regional Manager and collaborate with Territory Managers to support pipeline growth and business initiatives.
Key responsibilities include planning and executing weekly customer-targeting sequences, educating primary care physicians, internal medicine providers, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals about Inspire's therapy, and executing referral-channel growth initiatives to increase patient identification and therapy adoption. The representative will also support monthly community education programs and awareness events, partner with Territory Managers to deepen physician engagement and identify practice growth opportunities, conduct market assessments to identify growth opportunities and referral gaps, and support Territory Managers in growing the territory pipeline and increasing pipeline conversion. Additional duties involve logging customer engagements and creating new physician profiles in the customer relationship management system, transitioning customers from awareness to advocacy, providing clinical coverage as needed, developing an understanding of implant procedures, patient pathways, and therapy delivery processes, maintaining compliance with quality system requirements and field reporting obligations, and understanding and articulating clinical and outcomes data to the referral community.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree and at least two years of pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical device sales experience. Alternatively, four years of sales experience in these industries or two years of experience working directly with Inspire's therapy in a clinical setting are acceptable. The role requires the ability to travel within the territory or region, including overnight travel as needed, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation to travel to hospitals, clinics, and customer sites. Physical demands include the ability to lift and move materials or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and perform routine activities such as standing, sitting, bending, and reaching.
