Gilbert + Tobin, a leading Australian law firm, is seeking a Team Lead for Technology Projects to join their Architecture Strategy & Design (ASD) team within the Technology Group. This role offers a unique blend of leadership and hands-on project delivery, allowing the successful candidate to drive impactful technology initiatives while leading a high-performing team. The position is based in Sydney, Australia.

In this role, the Team Lead will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts. They will allocate resources effectively to ensure balanced workloads and optimal delivery, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture. The Team Lead will manage end-to-end delivery of technology projects, ensuring alignment with strategy, scope, time, and budget, and establish strong project governance, including risk management and stakeholder engagement. Collaboration with architecture and delivery teams is essential to ensure successful outcomes, and the Team Lead will partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into deliverable projects. Additionally, they will work closely with the Business Transformation Team to ensure alignment across initiatives and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a broad range of stakeholders. Promoting best practice project management methodologies and frameworks, identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency, and ensuring adherence to governance and compliance standards are also key responsibilities. The Team Lead will foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading project teams in a technology environment, with strong end-to-end project management experience. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to develop and inspire teams are essential, along with highly developed stakeholder management and communication skills. The candidate should be able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, possess strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, and have experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Significant experience delivering projects within complex technology environments and managing cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders is required. Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies is important, and a project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) is highly regarded. The candidate should be proactive, adaptable, and results-driven, with strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative mindset. Comfort with leading through change in a dynamic environment and a passion for continuous improvement and developing others are also important.
