Team Lead - step into Engineering Leadership
Capital on Tap is seeking a Team Lead to guide a small, talented engineering team in delivering high-quality software solutions. This role offers an opportunity to step into engineering leadership within a dynamic financial platform company that provides business credit cards and spend management tools to over 200,000 customers. The position is based in London, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring two days per week in the Moorgate office.
As a Team Lead, you will take ownership of your team, setting the tone for quality, collaboration, and accountability. Your responsibilities include providing mentorship and constructive feedback to help engineers develop their skills, and establishing team rituals such as standups, retrospectives, and one-on-one meetings to maintain alignment. You will also work closely with Product Managers, QA, and Designers to translate ideas into well-executed outcomes, contributing to product decisions and ensuring the team understands the broader context of their work.
The ideal candidate has extensive commercial experience with C#,.NET, Core, along with exposure to React. Proficiency in RESTful API design, Azure cloud environments, and SQL is essential. A strong advocate for code quality, you should be committed to unit and integration testing and possess a solid understanding of scalable system architecture and modern development practices. While prior formal leadership experience is not required, a history of mentoring colleagues and stepping up informally in previous roles is highly valued.
