System Architect - Sensors
The System Architect - Sensors role at Wayve involves defining and integrating sensor systems within the company's autonomous driving technology. As part of the Product & Delivery organization, the architect ensures that sensor configurations are optimized for various driving scenarios and autonomy performance across customer programs. This position requires close collaboration with hardware teams to translate system requirements into production-ready sensor configurations and vehicle integration strategies.
Key responsibilities include developing end-to-end sensing concepts aligned with autonomy performance for mass production, defining sensor layouts and integration strategies for production vehicle platforms, and validating sensor system performance using fleet data and simulations. The architect will also act as the technical owner of sensor system architecture in OEM programs, co-designing solutions with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to balance system performance, vehicle constraints, cost, and scalability.
Candidates should have strong experience in defining sensor systems at the system level, including integration into production vehicle architectures. A proven track record of translating driving use cases into validated system performance and driving architectural decisions through data and real-world validation is essential. Experience working across system architecture, AI/perception performance, and vehicle integration is also required.
