The System Architect - Robotaxi role at Wayve involves defining and developing the system architecture for deploying Wayve's AI Driver in robotaxi platforms and applications. This position requires a deep understanding of autonomous driving systems, including vehicle platforms, sensors, compute, safety mechanisms, and application layers. The architect will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration and scalability of Wayve's technology across various products and deployment models.

Key responsibilities include translating robotaxi use cases and deployment constraints into clear product and system requirements, defining integration strategies for compute, sensors, vehicle interfaces, and safety mechanisms, and identifying deployment-specific requirements that may influence Wayve's product architecture and technical roadmap. The role also involves collaborating with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and other partners on integration concepts, technical scopes, and deployment readiness, as well as supporting implementation through integration planning, technical reviews, and system-level debugging.

Candidates should have strong experience in system architecture or systems engineering for autonomous driving, robotics, or complex embedded systems. A comprehensive understanding of system architecture across sensors, compute, embedded software, vehicle integration, and safety is essential. The ability to translate high-level product goals into concrete architectural requirements and trade-offs, along with experience working across multiple technical domains and aligning different engineering stakeholders, is crucial. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also required.
