Ursa Major is seeking a Structural and Thermal Analysis Engineer II to join their Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) team in Berthoud, Colorado. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and validation of advanced solid propulsion systems, contributing to the company's mission of delivering high-performance propulsion solutions for aerospace and defense applications.

The engineer will conduct finite element analyses to assess structural integrity, thermal performance, and dynamic behavior of solid rocket motor components. Responsibilities include performing coupled thermal-stress analyses, developing and validating analytical models using industry-standard software, and evaluating test data to correlate analytical models with physical testing results. Collaboration with design, manufacturing, and test teams is essential to support development, qualification, and production programs.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, along with at least three years of experience in structural and thermal analysis of aerospace components. Proficiency in finite element analysis and thermal modeling tools, understanding of material properties and high-temperature structural behavior, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and test data are required. Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to work in a fast-paced development environment are also essential.

The position offers a base compensation range of $91,000 to $115,000, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
