Staff Technical Program Manager
AlphaSense is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our TPM organization. Our mission is to improve engineering velocity, and you will act as a force multiplier on mission-critical, large, complex initiatives with a high degree of cross-functional collaboration. This role requires a balance of software engineering expertise, leadership, and the ability to drive programs that align with both technical and business goals.
In this role, you will drive end-to-end technical programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical execution. You will deeply understand technical roadmaps, align them with business goals for timely product delivery, and resolve project-level issues, manage scope changes, and mitigate risks for smooth delivery. Collaboration with multiple teams across Engineering, Product, and other functions, as well as TPM peers, will be essential to ensure effective execution of projects and resolution of dependencies. Additionally, you will define and track KPIs, report progress, escalate issues to leadership, optimize processes, refine tools, implement best practices for efficient program delivery, and lead teams while mentoring junior program managers for growth and collaboration.
The ideal candidate will possess technical depth to fully comprehend the nuances of software architecture, design, and implementation in Cloud/SaaS/Enterprise domains. You should have 8+ years of experience in TPM or Engineering management, with a focus on software development or infrastructure, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex roadmaps in fast-paced environments. Effective at developing roadmaps and guiding teams through planning activities, you should have a strong analytical mindset, bringing data-driven decision-making to drive program improvements. Experience with risk and dependency management, prioritization, conflict resolution, and change management is essential, along with excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to influence and drive consensus across diverse teams. A strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Linear, Jira, Asana) are also required. Experience in a data, analytics, or business intelligence domain, ideally with AI/LLM exposure, a technical background (e.g., former engineer, technical degree), and certifications in project management (e.g., SAFe) are preferred.
The base compensation range for this role is $183,000 - $252,000 USD. In addition to base compensation, you may also be offered a performance-based bonus, equity, and a generous benefits program.
