Staff Software Engineer – Core Developer Experience (DevEx)
AlphaSense is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Core Developer Experience (Core DX) team. This role focuses on enhancing the inner development loop by improving tools, environments, and workflows to support approximately 400 engineers globally. The position involves close collaboration with the Cloud DX team to ensure a seamless software development lifecycle from local development to production.
Key responsibilities include improving the local development, build, and test processes to provide fast and reliable feedback. The engineer will integrate AI across the software development lifecycle, enhance developer experience around CI/CD in collaboration with Cloud DX, and identify and eliminate friction points in the developer journey. Additionally, the role involves building and evolving self-service tooling and internal platforms, establishing and improving developer productivity metrics, and enabling engineering scalability through better tooling, shared libraries, standards, and automation.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in Developer Experience, Platform Engineering, or Internal Tooling, with a proven track record of building and operating internal developer platforms. They should have hands-on experience with CI/CD, improving reliability, speed, and predictability, and be adept at defining and using developer productivity metrics. The ability to identify systemic friction and implement pragmatic, scalable solutions is essential. Experience with AI-enabled workflows across the software development lifecycle and a passion for using AI to improve engineering velocity, quality, and developer experience are highly desirable. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence across teams are also important.
AlphaSense offers a competitive compensation range of $150,000 to $225,000 USD, along with equity and a generous benefits program.
