Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer, (Forward Deployed), GPS
Scale AI's Global Public Sector (GPS) team is dedicated to leveraging artificial intelligence to tackle significant challenges within the public sector worldwide. The team focuses on developing custom AI applications that can positively impact millions of citizens, generating high-quality training data for large language models, and providing upskilling and advisory services to promote the widespread adoption of AI technologies. As a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer (Forward Deployed), you will play a pivotal role in collaborating directly with public sector partners to rapidly build and deploy full-stack AI applications, addressing their most pressing issues and delivering meaningful outcomes for citizens.
In this role, you will serve as the lead technical strategist for public sector engagements, transforming complex mission requirements into comprehensive architectural roadmaps and overseeing their on-site implementation. You will be responsible for designing and developing production-grade AI applications, integrating interactive user interfaces, backend systems, and AI models to ensure reliable and scalable solutions. Additionally, you will guide the evolution of cloud infrastructure, emphasizing security, global scalability, and long-term system integrity across various environments. Your contributions will also include directing the development of core platforms and shared services that address the diverse needs of international clients, as well as mentoring both senior and junior staff to align products with a cohesive and future-proof technical architecture.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent extensive industry experience in architecting complex, distributed systems. A minimum of 10 years of full-stack development experience is required, with proficiency in Python, Node.js, and React. A proven track record in designing high-scale architectures using Kubernetes and global cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is essential. The candidate should demonstrate expertise in designing and overseeing production-grade ecosystems that uphold world-class standards for system integrity, security, and scalability. Extensive experience in deploying and troubleshooting sophisticated end-to-end solutions within complex, high-security client environments is also necessary. A self-driven leader capable of resolving ambiguity, mentoring senior staff, and setting the technical vision for the organization is highly desirable. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset.
