Sr. Software Developer (Infrastructure)
Bandwidth is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Infrastructure) to enhance the platforms and tools that empower our engineers to deliver superior software efficiently. As a key member of the Software Infrastructure team, you will contribute to the development of our AI infrastructure, including the LLM gateway and model routing systems, ensuring seamless integration of AI capabilities across the organization.
In this role, you will design and operate Bandwidth's AI infrastructure layer, encompassing the LLM gateway, model routing, and cost controls, enabling engineering teams to experiment with AI tools safely and cost-effectively. You will build and maintain developer tooling and platform services that streamline the software delivery process, drive the adoption of AI coding tools by developing enablement systems and internal tooling, and integrate AI into existing systems such as Jira, Confluence, Slack, and GitHub to enhance workflow efficiency. Additionally, you will measure key engineering metrics to assess and improve performance and stay ahead of advancements in agentic workflows to evolve development practices.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience building and operating production web services, hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and strong coding skills in languages such as Python, Go, or TypeScript. Experience with platform services like CI/CD, secrets management, and developer portals is essential, along with familiarity with LLM APIs and considerations in model routing and AI observability. A results-driven mindset and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience are also required.
