The Sr. Director of Data Platform Engineering & Operations at Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving innovation and scalability within the company's data and AI platform ecosystem. Key responsibilities include defining and executing the long-term vision for SIE's Data and AI Platform ecosystem, aligning with business objectives to deliver value across various touchpoints. The Sr. Director leads the development of scalable platforms capable of processing large-scale, real-time data from millions of users, optimizing performance and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, the role involves providing thought leadership in platform design and architecture, ensuring seamless integration with SIE's global gaming services and enterprise operations, and championing operational excellence by driving continuous improvements in platform efficiency, performance, and security.

The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, coupled with over 15 years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering. Essential qualifications include deep expertise in designing distributed data systems and large-scale data warehouses, a proven track record of architecting platforms capable of processing petabytes of data, and extensive experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP). Proficiency with technologies such as Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake, and AI/ML platforms like AWS SageMaker is also required. Strong leadership skills, strategic mindset, and excellent communication abilities are crucial for effectively leading global engineering teams and collaborating across departments.

The estimated base salary for this role ranges from $286,000 to $468,000 annually, depending on the location, with additional benefits including medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness programs, and employee discounts for Sony products. This role may also be eligible for a bonus package.
