Software Test Engineer II
As a Software Test Engineer II at Ursa Major, you will play a pivotal role within the Avionics development team, ensuring the quality and reliability of avionics software systems. Ursa Major is dedicated to revolutionizing aerospace and defense by delivering high-performance propulsion systems that address critical national security needs.
In this position, your primary responsibilities will include developing and executing requirements-linked tests on avionics software components and systems. You will expand test coverage to mitigate software risks, manage the flight software release pipeline, and address novel software issues. Additionally, you will prepare and maintain test software, hardware, and environments, collaborating closely with software, systems, and hardware teams to support effective validation. Documenting test results through clear reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders is also a key aspect of the role.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, along with at least three years of experience in software-focused test engineering and execution. Proficiency in developing testing tools in Python and testing C/C++ applications is essential. Experience with continuous integration, automated build and test processes, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and familiarity with Git version control and GitHub workflows are also required. Strong teamwork abilities, self-direction, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are crucial for success in this role.
Compensation for this position ranges from $95,000 to $115,000 annually, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
