Software Engineer III, eCommerce
Box is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the E-Commerce Platform team within the Core Experience organization. This team is responsible for developing systems that enable customers of all sizes to purchase, adopt, and manage their Box subscriptions through self-service experiences. The role is pivotal in expanding Box's reach into new international markets and enhancing the pricing and discount offer engine to drive business growth.
In this position, you will develop high-quality, scalable, and responsive software using modern technologies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include writing clean and maintainable code, collaborating with designers and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences, participating in code reviews, troubleshooting and debugging software defects, and contributing to an Agile development environment through sprint planning and stand-ups. Additionally, you will be part of an on-call rotation to address and triage any arising issues.
The ideal candidate has over four years of professional software development experience, with proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java or PHP. You should have hands-on experience building highly scalable distributed systems and a strong understanding of scalability and observability practices. An enthusiasm for applied AI, including a willingness to experiment with AI agents and tools, is highly valued. A deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles is essential, along with experience in guiding and mentoring high-performing engineering teams and leading cross-functional projects.
