Software Engineer III, Desktop Experiences
Box is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our Desktop Experiences team in Warsaw, Poland. In this role, you will contribute to the development of Box's desktop applications, including Box Drive, Box Tools, and Box for Office, which enable users to access and collaborate on their documents seamlessly from their Windows and MacOS devices. Your work will directly impact millions of users who rely on these applications daily.
As a Software Engineer III, you will collaborate with engineers in both our Warsaw office and Redwood City headquarters to design and develop new features that enhance the user experience. Your responsibilities will include working across the stack of Box desktop applications, addressing challenges such as virtual file systems, data persistence, deep OS integrations, network communication, synchronization, and user interfaces. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to build and improve cross-platform user experiences using React Native and connect front-end experiences with underlying desktop application capabilities to support seamless end-to-end workflows.
The ideal candidate is proficient in C++, C#, or Swift, with at least 3 years of experience developing desktop applications. Experience with React Native, Python, or Objective-C is a plus. Strong software design skills, the ability to make sound technical decisions, and familiarity with modern unit-testing and functional-testing methodologies are essential. A track record of successful collaboration in small, high-velocity agile teams and excellent problem-solving and debugging skills are also important. A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
