The Software Engineer II - Billing role at Klaviyo involves contributing to the Billing & Monetization team, which manages the payments and enforcement infrastructure supporting numerous companies in sending billions of emails and text messages. This team is responsible for tracking product usage for customer billing, managing subscriptions and payments, and setting pricing for new and existing products. Key responsibilities include developing customer-facing products that enhance billing transparency, creating new methods to accurately and reliably track billions of product usage events, collaborating with customers and stakeholders to build a platform that maximizes value for both customers and Klaviyo, and making decisions regarding infrastructure, application logic, documentation, product changes, and user interfaces.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building high-quality products and systems, takes pride in writing clean, high-quality code, and possesses over three years of experience as a software engineer. Experience with RESTful APIs, pub/sub systems, and third-party integrations is essential, along with some experience in developing full-stack products and working on or leading team projects. A willingness to use AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully to enhance speed, code quality, and learning, while applying strong engineering judgment, is also important.
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $116,000 to $174,000, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education or training, and work location. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include participation in the company's annual cash bonus plan, equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility.
