Software Development Intern
As a Software Development Intern at Bandwidth, you will join our Messaging Team for the Summer 2026 program. Bandwidth is a global software company that provides voice, messaging, and emergency services across over 65 countries. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about building and learning, with aspirations to become exceptional engineers. This internship offers the opportunity to gain real-world experience in developing next-generation messaging products.
In this role, you will write high-quality code and collaborate with our engineering team to develop and refine messaging technologies, including SMS, MMS, and applications like WhatsApp and Facebook. You will participate in code reviews, contribute to software architecture discussions, and work on building and maintaining customer-facing APIs. This hands-on experience will enhance your skills in software development and provide exposure to new techniques and technologies.
Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with Java and Java frameworks, an understanding of object-oriented programming and design, and basic knowledge of Git or other source control systems are required. Basic knowledge of AWS is considered a plus. We are looking for individuals who enjoy problem-solving, designing efficient solutions, and thrive in a team environment.
