Site Reliability Engineer
Wayve is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Vehicle Software Engineering team in Tokyo, Japan. As a leader in Embodied AI technology, Wayve develops advanced AI software and foundation models that enable vehicles to perceive, understand, and navigate complex environments, enhancing the usability and safety of automated driving systems. The SRE will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our autonomous vehicles on public roads. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing automation tools to streamline operations, enhancing first-line support, and managing fleet operations. Additionally, the role involves creating and maintaining monitoring and logging systems to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Candidates should have proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role within a production environment. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Rust is required, along with a solid foundation in cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. Expertise in monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Splunk, or Humio is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are also necessary. A deep understanding of Linux systems and strong systems foundations are expected.
This full-time position is based in our Tokyo office, operating under a hybrid working policy that combines in-office collaboration with remote work. The role includes participation in a team on-call rotation, providing out-of-hours support for live systems as needed.
