Tubi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Rust to lead the development and maintenance of critical backend tools and infrastructure. This role is pivotal in advancing Tubi's platform capabilities, ensuring high performance and scalability. The position is based in Toronto, Canada, with a hybrid work arrangement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Rust services and tools. Collaboration with backend and client teams is essential to deliver high-performance, scalable components. The role also involves optimizing systems for reliability and observability, integrating AI-based development tools into engineering workflows, and mentoring engineers to foster a culture of technical rigor and continuous learning.

Applicants should have at least 4 years of backend software development experience, including a minimum of 1 year using Rust in production environments. Proficiency with Rust's common stack, such as Tokio, Axum, Tonic, Hyper, Bytes, Serde, and Tracing, is required. A deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and performance engineering is essential. Experience with cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, gRPC, CDN, S3, and Terraform, as well as familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, is also necessary.

The compensation for this role ranges from $137,200 to $196,000 CAD annually, depending on education, skills, experience, and location. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, long-term incentive plan, and various benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
