In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced recommendation systems and algorithms for a global audience. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting in-depth analyses of algorithmic components, ensuring models are optimized for performance and scalability across various regions and product areas. You will also build and deploy robust machine learning pipelines encompassing data extraction, feature development, model training, testing, and deployment. Continuous monitoring and optimization of deployed models to meet business goals and deliver high-quality user experiences will be essential. Collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to align on product requirements and deliver machine learning-driven solutions that enhance user engagement is a key aspect of this role.
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of industry experience in building production machine learning systems and hold an MSc or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Proficiency with deep learning technologies for recommendation systems, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, is required. Experience in building and deploying full-stack machine learning pipelines, including data extraction, data mining, model training, feature development, testing, and deployment, is essential. A solid understanding of statistical concepts like hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and performance evaluation metrics for machine learning is also necessary. The ability to delve into individual components and systems while understanding the overall architecture of machine learning solutions is crucial.
Compensation for this role varies based on level and location. For staff-level positions in high-cost labor markets such as Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco, the annual salary ranges from $239,000 to $342,000. For principal-level positions, the range is $292,000 to $417,000. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, long-term incentive plan, and various benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
